Our Services
We provide many services here at Spekner Farms. In our more traditional farm we raise and sell pigeons, chickens and eggs, ducks and geese. In our more exotic farm area we raise chinchillas, and hopefully soon earthworms. Our operating hours are from Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by special appointment. Cash sales and paypal only please.
White Dove Releases
Here at Spekner Farm, we raise, train and release our white doves in the nearby communities of East Contra Costa County. Our doves are trained to return to their lofts here at the farm for a beautiful and humane white dove release experience. Please contact us for pricing and availability. (925) 634-0500.
Permaculture
Our family firmly believes that the earth is designed to maintain a healthy soil ecosystem when given the opportunity. For the past four years we have been redeeming the land for farming with permaculture - transforming our land with cardboard, pigeon manure, and mulch. As our garden expands, we hope to provide healthy nutrient-rich foods for our family, our livestock, and our customers. The photo above is the garden before planting this season. Notice how the mulch behind the fence prevented the enormous crop of weeds shown in the foreground.
